At the heart of the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy Program is a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience. The academy provides aspiring filmmakers with the opportunity to undergo a 12-month immersion into the world of film and television production. Participants engage in intensive training covering various aspects of the industry, including scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, and storytelling.

The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF)za is an immersive 12-month industry readiness program designed to provide aspiring filmmakers with a unique opportunity to learn from leading professionals in the TV and film industry. This comprehensive program offers participants the chance to acquire valuable experience in various aspects of the industry, including directing, producing, cinematography, commissioning, and more.

Functioning as an education program, MTFza is dedicated to developing emerging talent in the TV and film sector across Africa. The program spans three regions and covers 13 countries, making it the first academy of its kind on the continent. Through a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience, participants delve into cinematography, editing, audio production, storytelling, and other essential skills required for success in the industry.

Sixty talented and deserving candidates are selected each year to partake in this fully funded program. These aspiring filmmakers have the unique opportunity to hone their skills alongside industry veterans, gaining insights and practical knowledge that will shape their careers in TV and film production. The program is facilitated through accredited regional MTF Academies strategically located in Kenya (for East Africa), Africa (for West Africa), and Zambia (for Southern Africa). These academies operate in collaboration with esteemed local academic institutions.

In essence, the MTFza program not only bridges the gap between education and industry but also serves as a catalyst for the growth and empowerment of emerging talent in Africa’s vibrant TV and film landscape. Eligibility Criteria For The MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy Program

  • You a South African citizen
  • You have completed a 3 year Diploma/Degree in film and TV or a related qualification (Drama, Acting, Journalism etc.) within the last 2 years.
  • You have achieved a minimum of a C + Aggregate.

Method of Application

TO APPLY, YOU’LL NEED:

  • Your CV – not more than 2 pages
  • Personal motivation letter of not more than 500 words (why should you be chosen?)
  • Copy of South African Identity Document – certified
  • Copy of academic transcripts / Tertiary qualification Certificate – certified
  • Confirmation of banking details – verified by bank with bank stamp and/or letter
  • Proof of residential address with affidavit
