The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST provides academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and Africa with access to quality and relevant university education.

It embodies an array of mentoring and cultural transition services to ensure student academic success, community engagement and transition to employment opportunities which will further social and economic change for Africa.

Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (MCFSP at KNUST). Our goal is to raise the next generation of ethical and transformative leaders who would influence positive forward-looking changes in their respective home countries specifically and on the African Continent as a whole.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is a prestigious scholarship initiative aimed at providing educational opportunities to academically talented but economically disadvantaged students from Africa. The program, established through a partnership between KNUST and the MasterCard Foundation, seeks to empower young African leaders with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to catalyze positive change in their communities and countries.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST offers comprehensive scholarships to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in various fields of study, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, and social sciences. The scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, meals, books, and other educational expenses, enabling scholars to focus on their studies and fully engage in university life without financial constraints.

In addition to financial support, MasterCard Foundation Scholars at KNUST benefit from a range of academic and non-academic support services designed to enhance their educational experience and promote their personal and professional development. These services may include academic advising, mentorship, career counseling, leadership training, internships, community service opportunities, and networking events.

Requirements For The Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science & Technology MasterCard Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

  1. All Applicants must have a WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O’Level and A’Level or their equivalent Results from an accredited/recognized institution and Certificate Ready and must meet KNUST’s Admission Requirements. NO AWAITING RESULTS candidate will be accepted. Applicant’s result must be at least a year old.
  2. The Applicant must demonstrate that he/she has Critical Economic Needs.
  3. The Applicant must have Proven Records of Leadership and Community Engagement(s).
  4. The Applicant must be prepared to Go-Back and Give-Back to his or her Community.
  5. The Applicant must not be enrolled in any tertiary institution.

Priority shall be given to;

  • Females
  • Displaced Persons (Certified Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, etc.)
  • Persons with Disability

When submitting your scholarship application form to the Secretariat, submit these additional documents;

  • The printout of your application for admission at KNUST.
  • Original Certificates for both O’Level and A’Level results or their equivalent results.
